LEGO Harry Potter Slytherin House Banner (76410) Review

Jun 04, 2023

In my next review of the 2023 LEGO Harry Potter sets, we check out the Slytherin House Banner (76410) which has 349 pieces and retails for $34.99.

There are three minifigures in this set, Draco Malfoy, Pansy Parkinson, and Blaise Zabini. Draco has on robes that some of the inside shirt and tie. His double-sided head shows him with his angry expression and confused look.

Pansy Parkinson is a new character and she has on a gray sweater. Her double-sided head shows her with a stern look on one side and a screaming expression on the other.

Finally we have Blaise Zabini who has a green striped sweater. He only has a single-sided head with a stern look.

The build starts of with the frame in the middle. The top has sort of a atle with the double snakes and the Slytherin flag colors. To the left of that, we have a stickered Slytherin banner. Below that, there’s a fireplace with a skull above it.

The left flap has some steps going up to somewhere. I’m not sure where it’s going because this area is pretty barren besides the entryway.

The right flap however has a lot of details even though they’re mostly stickers. The upper part has a portrait of Severus Snape and soe items worthy of of being hung up. The bookshelf area has a mirror alog with some books and a hand. Below that is some sort of horn and a crystal ball.

The thing with these banner sets is that it makes use of a lenticular sheet. It doesn’t hook on to anything in the back but slides in and is secured by some horn pieces.

The lenticular has a number of scenes in various spots of the frame. The main one is of Salazar Slytherin with a snake wrapped around him.To the top left of him, there are some eyes peering through the darkness, most likely the basilisk. Through the windows on the right side, you see some fish swimming around. The fireplace on the bottom left has some fire flickering. In the middle bookshelf, there’s a lamp and below that, there’s a hidden message that says Tom Riddle was here.

When you close the banner, there’s a printed Slytherin crest right in the middle and you can hang it up using the hook piece on the back.

In addition to the banner, there are some small accessories which includes a table, sofa, some lamps, and the steps from before. All of them can be inserted in various spots for easy storage.

Overall, I think the LEGO Harry Potter Slytherin House Banner (76410) is a little underwhelming, especially when comparing to the Gryffindor House Banner (76409). There’s really not much going on inside and the stairway on the left flap leaves little to be desired. The lenticular screen has some cool things on it but there’s a lot of unused space.

Thank you to LEGO for sending in this set for me to review. The content above represents my own opinion and not the company. Review sets sent in does not guarantee a positive review.
