Ghostface London Picture Gallery Stunt has People Screaming

A Ghostface London picture gallery stunt certainly caught guests off guard as Dulwich Picture Gallery certainly screamed ‘promotional event’ this week.

“This isn’t like any other ghostface…” To celebrate the release of Scream VI, visitors to Dulwich Picture Gallery in London were able to experience Ghostface in a whole new light.

On Sunday March 5, ‘What’s Your Favourite Scream?’ gave a new take on the iconic painting; ‘The Scream’ by Edvard Munch, as the art piece transformed into the image of Ghostface using lenticular technology to create an unforgettable encounter with the horror icon.

Guests were bemused and amazed at the lenticular image of the painting suddenly transforming into Ghostface as part of a promotion for the horror movie which is now the number-one movie in the UK.

Scream VI has been scaring audiences all weekend and this little promotional event was a nice (if albeit subtle) way of promoting the movie.

Scream VI, Melissa Barrera (“Sam Carpenter”), Jasmin Savoy Brown (“Mindy Meeks-Martin”), Mason Gooding (“Chad Meeks-Martin”), Jenna Ortega (“Tara Carpenter”), Hayden Panettiere (“Kirby Reed”) and Courteney Cox (“Gale Weathers”) return to their roles in the franchise alongside Jack Champion, Henry Czerny, Liana Liberato, Dermot Mulroney, Devyn Nekoda, Tony Revolori, Josh Segarra, and Samara Weaving. In the next chapter of the Scream franchise, Ghostface leaves Woodsboro behind, causing chaos on an even bigger scale in New York City.

Sadly, I’m in the minority who wasn’t blown away with Scream VI as I felt it was quite lazy in large portions and didn’t deliver on its promise of exploring the big apple in Jason Takes Manhattan style.

We saw one NYC Tube Line and the rest of the movie was inside apartments/buildings that could have been anywhere in the world.

I thought the characters weren’t likeable, the backstories weren’t really explored (more dragged on) and the kills were all copy and paste and not the unique, original and mindblowing kills that fans were making them out to be.

I just can’t jump on the bandwagon with this one as this instalment to me felt half arsed but fans will lap it up. Die-hard fans refuse to believe there will be a bad movie in the franchise, newcomers will be happy with the dynamic of the film (as it’s the same as all the others) and then there’s those who will laugh out loud at the reveals at the end and the countless times that Ghostface could have been stopped in the movie rather easily.

But no, they ran off and dragged the movie out in lazy writing drowning in a lazy movie.

You only need to listen to one line that explains where Sidney Prescott is during all of these events, that one line alone should tell you just how lazy this film was cobbled together. But it’s a box office success so sadly we’re going to have another Scream movie to follow, let’s hope they make it more interesting than this one eh?
